Long before the actual formation of The 3 Captains as a business, a friendship was born. During the summer of 2018, a long friendship started rooted in maritime tradition and heritage of the Grand 14 in Pacific Northwest. Some of the values we carry today are thanks to the Grand 14 Yacht Clubs, their members, and the events we have attended throughout the years.

In early 2021, three friends decided to become USCG Licensed Marine Captains with a joke that they were the “Tres Capitanos” instead of the 3 Amigos. What started out as a joke, slowly turned into a business idea and a venture that you see in front of you today. While not all of the three captains are actively involved in the day-to-day operation of the business, the name stuck and today it represents the three distinctive marine services with Marine Brokerage, Electronics Sales, and Captain Services for Vessel Delivery and Sailing Instructions.

Our approach to the services we provide is deeply rooted in our previous professions and the extensive experience on the water ranging from commercial fishing in the Mediterranean, and navigating the deep waters of Alaska, to sailing through the Panama Canal, and completing The American Great Loop.

Everything we do is with the direct intent to provide our customers with highest value so they can confidently sail through their adventures with absolute safety.
