Truck transportation has several benefits which shouldn’t be overlooked.

1. Speed – Truck transport across the country would last days while Direct Delivery and Ship Transport would last several weeks to months.
2. Price – for most vessels the price of truck transportation will be more cost effective than any other alternative. There are exceptions to this that we will discuss later.
3. Inland Waters – For deliveries on inland lakes, waters, or areas which are remote from ports and can be easily accessed by truck, the truck transport is by far the most effective route.

As mentioned above there are some caveats to the size of the vessel which can be transported. Generally, vessels under 11ft width, 40ft length, and 15ft overall height will be the most affordable vessels to transport and will require very little preparation to make ready for the move.

For vessels which are larger in any of those dimensions, truck transportation becomes significantly more difficult. Because the size of the vessel would not meet DOT requirements for standard truck load, additional services such as route surveys, escort vehicles, and removal of lines across roads would be required.
